His daughter, Allison, gave me at his celebration of life.

THIS WEEKEND IS OUR CRUISING OLDIES DINNER CRUISES ON THE SAINT!!
Who remembers the words to the songs from the 50’s and 60’s? Take a stroll down memory lane while eating some fantastic food, listening to some great old songs, and cruising on Lake George!!

The we will have some incredible dishes on our buffet and will include Prime Rib on the carving station along with our fantastic salad bar, and dessert brought to your table!

The Saint will begin boarding at 4pm and then sail from 5pm - 7pm on both Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6.

Here is a fun photo of the Saint at night that was taken by Brandon Segal a couple of weeks ago!
He told us that the exposure was 2 minutes long, which is why the water looks so smooth!

Brandon is a local photographer that specializes in wedding photography, but it looks like he dabbles in landscape photography as well!

Last night we had an absolutely spectacular time on the cruise as captains, engineers, loved ones, and old employees all gathered to help celebrate the retirement of Chief Captain on the Minne Ha Ha...
Steve Boyce!

For 45 years Captain Boyce has captained the Minne Ha Ha, making him one of the longest tenured captains in the company's long history. During this time he has entertained tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of tourists with his fantastic narrations, and has trained numerous fine pilots and captains on the Minne, many of whom we still happily employee today.

Many of the stories shared last night all centered around his skill as a teacher and his famous dry humor and quick wit, but also of his calm and understanding presence.
And his sacrifice and dedication...
Due to health reasons, he was thinking about retiring years ago, but because of our lack of captains at the time, Capt. Boyce stuck with us until we had proper depth at captains on the Minne.
He couldnt abandon the family of captains on the ship during such trying times, which speaks volumes to his character and his dedication to his fellow captains and the Steamboat Family.

We are sad to see Captain Boyce go, but we are so thankful for everything you have done for the Minne and her captains and crew and engineers, the Company, and my father/our family the past 45 years!
We wish you the absolute best in your retirement!!

On the eve of our 2nd to last day of our summer sailing schedule (😭) we want to share with you this inspirational message that we got from Morgan of the Woodfin Park Tigers.

Here is what she wrote:
"I thought you’d enjoy seeing this “recreation” picture. My grandmother and what would have been her great grandchildren 🥰 on the same dock! We are at Woodfin Park and wave or jump any time you do a shoreline cruise!"

Morgan also asked:
"If we move our floating dock will you come that close again? 😆"

Morgan, the answer is an emphatic yes!!!

I absolutely love these two photos because it shows why this area is so special.
Current and future generations enjoying the lake and the same experiences that previous generations enjoyed doing, quite literally walking in the same footsteps on the same dock!
It is also traditions like these that inspired my father and now myself and my mother, and all of our other employees here at the company, to keep doing what we do.
Because these ships are more than just ships and mean so much to the people who have seen these same ships for 100+ and 50+ and 30+ years.
We are so happy to be apart of so many great family traditions and we promise to continue to do so for the future!
