With vaccines being distributed, how soon do you think you'll be out traveling again?

I've done some small trips over the last year, but only short ones. The Mississippi Delta was a fun one. Unfortunately I didn't get to visit any Juke Joints, but I still enjoyed the road trip and learned some things along the Mississippi Blues trail and about Beale Street and Memphis.

Here was an interview I did for my Whiskey Lore podcast with Jimmy Rout, Shelby County (home of Memphis) historian about Beale Street's history and revival.

I don't use the term "must see" very often, but for me, seeing the statue of Winnipeg the bear was one. Here she is posed with her buddy Lt. Harry Colebourn who purchased her in Ontario before taking her with him to Europe.

Winnie, as she became known, became the mascot for the Canadian Army Veterinary Corps.

After his war service ended Lt. Colebourn contemplated bringing her back to his home in Winnipeg, but decided to give her to the London Zoo. It is there that a young Christopher Robin fell in love with the bear, renaming his own teddy named Edward to Winnie the Pooh.

This statue by William Epps is in the Children's Nature Playground in Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg.

Having just been to Amsterdam, the Canadian version is quite a bit different. But you can wear wooden shoes in either.

Why is there a camel in Glenboro, Manitoba? Well, just north of this unorthodox Canadian statue lie the Spirit Sands, a little slice of desert in the middle of the Canadian prairie.

A fun stop between Regina and Winnipeg and worth a snapshot before walking the trails in Spruce Woods National Park. 🐫🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Hey travel crew. What a crazy couple of months. I know the travel industry is wanting to get rolling again and I feel for all of those that depend on tourism.

I want to send a shout-out to Heidi, Angela, Jan and everybody at - in the midst of this you were so nice to send out a care package that included some pretty awesome stuff from around Carson Valley including one of my favorite distilleries . I wish everyone the best and hope we're all back on the road soon. Stay healthy!

Spring in Saskatchewan. I had my year all perfectly planned out last year. I would go to Scotland in April to avoid allergy season. But silly me, I planned out Canada in mid May! Oops.

Budding trees and flowers got me a little, but not too bad. The weather was perfect for a walk around town.

That's how I look after a long week! Happy Friday world 🇨🇦✨🎊🎉
