Yesterdayโ€™s tours told two very different stories.
โ˜€๏ธ The morning was light on passengers but rich in perspectiveโ€”history unfolding in real time. Almost every tour now includes watching another old lake cottage disappear. Yesterday, it was a home off Andrewโ€™s Street. The skyline is steadily shifting, with bigger builds and towering condos rising where small cottages once stood. My neighbor, Pat Parkins, was on boardโ€”sheโ€™s lived on the lake for 50 years and has seen these dramatic changes up close.

๐ŸŒ… The evening tour flipped the moodโ€”full of laughter, local first-timers, and the kind of sunset that makes you stop mid-sentence just to take it in.

A few snapshots from the latest tours!

๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ Fridayโ€™s trip was a memorable oneโ€”a private charter for Jay and his family visiting from Texas. Jay grew up on Lake Orion, so we took a few nostalgic detours (yep, that was me back in the canals!) to revisit his childhood home. He was blown away by how much the lake has changed.

๐ŸŒ… Sunday marked the first open tour of the seasonโ€”and it nearly sold out! Huge thanks to everyone who came aboard. Iโ€™ve got just a couple more Sunday Funday Tours coming up: August 17th & September 7th with openings.

โ˜€๏ธ And this mornings tour? Straight-up lake magic! So peaceful and quiet.

The lake was chilly and eerily quietโ€ฆ not a ripple in sight. And just when we thought it couldnโ€™t get stranger, the sun dipped below the trees glowing an unnatural shade of crimson. No filterโ€”just Mother Nature at her most mysterious.

This morningโ€™s tour was a warm oneโ€” 85ยฐ and climbingโ€”but the memories were even warmer. ๐Ÿงก I had the pleasure of taking the Tunny family out, a small private tour gifted by three sisters to their dad for Fatherโ€™s Day.

Theyโ€™ve lived on Park Island since the 1960s, so of course I had questions! I love hearing firsthand what Lake Orion was like back in the day. Today I learned that the Old Detroit Bar was once an A&Wโ€”even before it became Peteโ€™s Roadhouse. And get thisโ€ฆ anytime the Tigers won, coneys at A&W were just 25 cents! That didnโ€™t last longโ€”they quickly switched to curly fries after a few games ๐Ÿคฃโšพ๐ŸŒญ

Grateful for a great ride down memory lane with the Tunny family!
