Labor Day weekend is always a bittersweet one here at Paradise. For most of our crew, it’s the last weekend together before everyone heads off and another summer starts coming to an end.

Over the years, we’ve shared a whole lot more than days on the water. We’ve made friendships, started inside jokes, worked through the crazy days, celebrated the great ones, and created memories together that we’ll carry long after the boats are put away.

Every year seems to fly by faster than the one before it. One minute we’re kicking off Memorial Day weekend, and next thing we know it’s already Labor Day.

So here’s a little photo dump from Labor Day weekends over the last few years. Different crews, different summers, but a whole lot of great memories made in Paradise.

Grateful for every person who has been part of this team and helped make Paradise what it is.

Summer goes fast but the memories stick around.

This summer’s sunsets

What an incredible first season it has been for our Sunset Parasail Experience!

We had a feeling flying over Lake of the Ozarks during golden hour would be special, but the response has completely exceeded our expectations. The feedback from everyone who joined us has been overwhelmingly positive.

Sunsets on the lake are one of a kind. The water starts to calm down, the sky lights up, and you’re floating hundreds of feet above it all with one of the best views at Lake of the Ozarks.

Going through our photos from this summer reminded us just how many incredible sunsets we’ve been lucky enough to share with you.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a sunset flight this summer and helped make the first season of this experience such a success.

🔧Full winch service breakdown:

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
We drain and replace 10 gallons of AW-68 hydraulic fluid and install a new 1759 hydraulic filter.

This level of preventative maintenance is not required within the standard, but we choose to service our hydraulic system this way because our winch is one of the most important pieces of equipment on the boat.

Our goal is to take care of the equipment before the equipment gives us a reason to.

🪢 NEW PARASAIL LINE
Parasail towline has defined inspection, strength, and replacement requirements within our industry.

We use 3/8” double-braid line from New England Ropes, with strength exceeding the minimum required for our application (7,200lbs)

We track every flight and replace it according to the F-3099 ASTM industry standard.

⚙️ LEVEL-WIND INSPECTION
Our winch uses a mechanical level-wind system that guides the line evenly across the drum as it travels in and out.

The worm bar, pawl, carriage, rollers, bearings, and spline are cleaned and inspected for wear, proper movement, and alignment.

🔗 SPLICED EYE AND SOFT SHACKLE
Years ago, the industry moved away from simply tying the parasail directly to the towline with a bowline.

Today, we splice an eye into the towline using a fid and connect the parasail using a soft shackle.

This creates a clean, serviceable connection that can be properly inspected and maintained.

🔍 COMPLETE MECHANICAL INSPECTION
Finally, we clean and inspect the entire winch assembly, including:

• Fittings
• Rollers
• Bearings
• Level-wind components
• Towline and splice
• Soft shackle
• Hydraulic components
• Motor-to-drum spline
• All critical connection and wear points

Parasailing is an incredible experience, but behind every flight is equipment that has to work exactly the way it was designed to.

That’s why we maintain our equipment consistently, inspect it thoroughly, and follow the standards established for the parasailing industry.

You could say we truly go above and beyond 😎😅
