High in the Andes, near the glacier of Sinakara, thousands gather each year for Qoyllur Rit’i, one of Peru’s most important spiritual celebrations.
Rooted in both Andean tradition and Catholic faith, the festival brings together music, dance, pilgrimage, and ceremony in a landscape that feels both remote and deeply significant.
For several days, communities from across the region move through the mountains in honor of the Apus, the spirits believed to protect the Andes.
Qoyllur Rit’i is not experienced as a performance, but as a living tradition that continues to shape life in the highlands of Peru.
