Is to meet the nutritional needs of hungry children in our local schools at times when other resources are not available, such as during weekends and school vacations, and to provide a sound basis for learning and personal growth via a strong supplemental nutritional program. Our Vision

We had some very special visitors at Food Backpacks 4 Kids recently! The amazing 3rd graders from Lighthouse Christian School, Gig Harbor, Washington stopped by our pantry to donate over 150 taco kits they thoughtfully assembled for our Food Backpack program!

After their big drop-off, they headed out to our farm for a fun afternoon with the Key Peninsula Beekeepers 🐝🌻 — learning all about bees and getting hands-on with nature!

Norah and Maddie have volunteered with their Girl Scout Troop at Food Backpacks 4 Kids, but they wanted to do even more! 💚✨

For their Bronze Award project, they worked closely with us to learn about the common food items in our Family Pantry. Using that knowledge, they created a cookbook filled with easy, delicious recipes that can be made with ingredients available at FB4K!

Heron's Key just wrapped up their 7th Annual Food & Fund Drive for Food Backpacks 4 Kids! 🎉

Anne, who has led this drive for all seven years, brought friends along last week to deliver an incredible donation—over 500 pounds of food to help fill food backpacks and school care cupboards, plus more than $6,000 in monetary contributions!

The first-ever Food Basket Food Drive, organized by the Key Clubs, PoC, BSU, and Leadership at Peninsula and Gig Harbor High Schools, collected an amazing 5,922 items to support our Food Backpack and School Care Cupboard programs. While PHS brought in the most items, it’s our entire community that truly wins! A huge thank you to everyone who participated—let’s make this an annual tradition!
