One of my favorite perks of staying at a Disney Deluxe resort is Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort guests only. We closed down the Magic Kingdom past 1 AM. Walked on to Space Mountain twice before a final private Tron ride! Another magical night!

While the most productive way to get through things is to take advantage of the park’s early entry for on-site resort guests, sometimes you want to sleep in and take it easy. We did a mid-morning entry - took in a few attractions, ate at Satuli Canteen which is one of our favorite quick service restaurants on property and saw lots of characters out and about. Getting ready to make the transition to a new resort this afternoon!

BUCK’S MAGIC MINUTE - Spending money at Disney oftentimes comes down to choices and value! One of the great perks of staying on property is complimentary Disney transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. And tonight service is more frequent and faster than staying offsite, sometimes you can save time by taking a ride share. We checked the bus times for pick up at the Polynesian to Animal Kingdom. With the 15 minute wait for the bus, followed by a stop at Grand Floridian, we were looking at 35-40 minutes before arriving to the park. Instead, we booked a Lyft for $12 + tip, were picked up in 3 minutes and were dropped off before the bus would have arrived to pick us up at the resort. For us, that was worth getting the ride share this morning.

One of the great things about the park hopper is you can switch up parks on the fly! We decided to pivot from Magic Kingdom this morning to take advantage of afternoon Lightning Lanes at Animal Kingdom! We had a giraffe come right up to our Safari vehicle and I saw a former and current student! Great day!

Today’s an easy day! We didn’t rope drop. Just got up, went for a run and then headed in to MK! The parks are busy but we used Lightning Lanes to keep things short. Some LL’s opened up for Animal Kingdom so we are headed there for a fun afternoon before a night off from the parks!

I went basic with the pepperoni flatbread at Captain Cook’s, the Polynesian’s quick-service restaurant. I also purchased the refillable mug which can be used at all the Disney resorts and sometimes at a few other places on property. Cost is $22.99 for the duration of your stay. It can save money if you like to drink soda and it makes for a nice mug souvenir at home.

The first part of our stay is at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We love the beauty of the grounds and the relaxed, tropical feel of the resort. Our room isn’t ready yet. That’s OK! Ben is getting his run in while I grab a light lunch. With online check-in, we receive text updates so we can go directly to our room when it’s ready.
