Some songs stick with you for life. The first time I heard “What Hit Em” I knew we found our camp theme song. Every camper and staff member every year of camp knew every word of this song and every step of this choreography (thanks to Rhonda Malkin) by heart…and they probably all still know every word and every step. The Camp Maor family expands beyond the people who stepped onto campus every summer. The lyricist of our beloved theme song needs our prayers. Please keep Akiva Moshe ben Miriam in your prayers and enjoy our flashmob to his song on the very first night ever of Camp Maor!

And just like that, we’ve come to the end of our 8 nights of highlights. To round out Chanukah, we heard from Clara, whose highlight encompasses all of Camp Maor. Her favorite part was theater, and most importantly the new friends she made this summer. Thank you for joining us on this journey through 8 nights 🕎

Highlights 6 and 7, here we go!

Chava: My Camp Maor highlights would include the achdut at camp, the self confidence I gained, and the fun!

Elana: My highlight was the first day when I got to meet all different girls from diverse backgrounds, and having the opportunity to reflect later in the summer the close-knit family we all became.

8 NIGHTS OF HIGHLIGHTS! Throughout the holiday of Chanukah, we will be featuring some of our campers’ and staff members’ favorite parts of Camp Maor 🕎

Adina: I love eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner all together in the dining room because you can meet new friends from the whole camp. When they turn the music on and everyone dances it’s one of the best parts of camp.

Estee: My favorite part of camp is the relationships I have made with professional staff. I was a “Maoriginal” camper the first two years and then staff the fourth year and this past summer. Working with the professionals was part of what inspired me to come back to Maor as staff.
