🪦🗝️ A fascinating piece of Haunted Mansion history involves Disney Imagineer and artist Rolly Crump, who created bizarre and eerie concepts for what was originally planned as a “Museum of the Weird” connected to the Haunted Mansion. While Walt Disney was still alive, Rolly presented strange ideas like melting candle men, living chairs, a coffin clock, and surreal ghostly creatures that were far creepier and more unsettling than typical Disney attractions.👻
🗝️Walt reportedly loved the creativity and told Rolly that many of those odd concepts might work perfectly in a separate side attraction called the “Museum of the Weird” near the Haunted Mansion. The idea was that guests would first enter the Haunted Mansion, then possibly experience this bizarre walk-through collection of supernatural oddities afterward.🚪
🔮One of the most famous concepts was “The Candle Man,” a ghostly figure whose body appeared to melt like wax.
