What a way to kick off the Autumn Experience! 🍂🌽

We had SO much fun being part of the Official Millersport Sweet Corn Festival parade yesterday and promoting the Fairfield County Trail of Scarecrows-Autumn Experience along for the way! Seeing all the incredible floats, local organizations, nonprofits, businesses, high school bands and festival queens come together was such a great reminder of what makes this region so special. ❤️

And we couldn’t have done it without some pretty amazing people joining us!

A huge THANK YOU to the Berne Union Local Schools theatre class and choir students, Cathie and Paul Browning of Sugar Grove, Berne Union staff members Abigale and Noah Ott, and Fairfield County Local Expert Misty McGiffin for walking with us and helping bring the Trail of Scarecrows to life! 🎃 We are so grateful you spent the evening with us!

The Millersport Sweet Corn Festival continues through Saturday, September 5, so there’s still time to stop by and experience this nearly 80-year Buckeye Lake Region tradition! 🌽

For years, Rockside Winery and Vineyards has been a Fairfield County staple, offering a little slice of Wine Country right here in central Ohio.

On August 22, our Visit Fairfield County team had the chance to visit SunRay Farms for their Open House! We learned more about everything they have to offer and get a sneak peek at what’s to come. With beautiful weather, plenty to see, and lots of fun along the way, it was a great way to spend the day! ☀️

From their you-pick flower garden 🌷 and adorable farm animals 🐐 to a behind-the-scenes look at the construction of their new wedding venue 💍, SunRay Farms has something special taking shape in Fairfield County!

We’re excited to see all that’s in store for SunRay Farms and can’t wait for our community and visitors to experience it for themselves. Be sure to check out their upcoming events below and make plans to visit the farm! 🌼

🎃 How does the Trail of Scarecrows work?

It’s pretty simple:

1️⃣ Register your scarecrow
2️⃣ Create it
3️⃣ Place it outside your home or business
4️⃣ Add your voting flyer
5️⃣ Your scarecrow gets added to the digital trail
6️⃣ Visitors explore and vote for their favorites!

During October, visitors will travel to 15 communities across Fairfield County to find the scarecrows and cast their votes.

🗳️ Where do you get your voting flyer?
Pick up your laminated voting flyer at the Fairfield County Visitors Center, 128 N. Broad Street in Downtown Lancaster, during regular business hours:
Monday–Friday | 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

📸 Don't forget to upload a photo of your finished scarecrow with its name tag so it can be included on the voting form!

🏆 And there are prizes!
The People’s Choice winner in each participating community will receive a $50 Visa gift card, sponsored by Visit Fairfield County. Every winner will receive a commemorative plaque, while the winners of the 10 judged categories will also receive a special prize.

This year's cemetery tour will take you back to where it all began!
Join us for a tour of the "City Burial Grounds" - Lancaster's first municipal cemetery and present-day Firehouse Park. This tour has been a couple of years in the making and we are excited to provide the history and introduce you to some of the people who are STILL buried there!

Tickets will go on sale October 1st. $15/FCHA member and $20/non-member.

Proceeds from the event will go to a special project for the park. We will share more about that at a later date!
