Franklin Lake Improvement Association is asking for people to participate in a proposed walleye reef project survey. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources survey can be found here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScPq5UsoGyw3JxzS_O-wFra9BVnw3E3PBEVeKiNXaaFuJ-EZA/viewform?usp=header

The WDNR is wanting stakeholders’ input. So any resident or property owner in Oneida, Florence or Vilas Counties; even if you’re not a resident or property owner, but you’ve camped at the Nicolet National Forest campground or enjoyed hobbies or the beautiful scenery around Franklin Lake shores, you’re an interested stakeholder.

If approved the project would be grant funded. There’s a link to more specific details of the proposed project included in the attached link.

Scam alert passing on from Vilas County Sheriff’s Department

Vilas County Residents........Our County has been getting hit hard with scam attempts. An unknown person has been calling people and pretending to be a relative in some sort of trouble. They have also been stating that they are either bail bondsman, or lawyers representing a relative. They are requesting large amounts of cash and stating there is a "gag" order in place and you are not to be talking about it. If you receive a call or someone arrives at your home demanding money for the above situation, please call the Vilas County Sheriff's Office. Please let as many senior citizens know as possible, as these are the targeted age group.

This is an ongoing scam that counties around us are experiencing as well.
