Hi everyone! It’s been a while since we have posted.

After a few years of taking people from all over the world birding in Las Vegas, the time came for us to close down our business.

The lockdown in 2020 certainly shook things up for us, and following that, we all have prioritized different things. After all, we all called this a “side-hustle with huge potential”, but the reality is there was only so much time to give to Bird Las Vegas.

Ben is now a father and plays larger roles as a biologist, Justin was promoted and is traveling more, Brandon continues to survey bird populations across the west, and Alex moved on to focus on education.

Everyone, it has been such a pleasure to share the world of birds with you, whether you have gone birding with us, or have tuned in over a screen. On behalf of all of us at Bird Las Vegas, thank you!

The good news is you have another option for quality bird guiding services in Las Vegas. His name is David Anderson, and you can follow him at The Wild Sights.

On behalf of Ben, Justin, and Brandon, we hope that many birds and hours in in nature are ahead of you.

~ Alex

My name is Dave Anderson, I love watching birds and other wildlife.

We are in business, y’all. Like many of us, the months following COVID’s lockdown measures found us in different positions from where we left off. We had some amazing trips lined up in 2020, only to pause operations for over a year.

We are back in the game. We are agents of bird-finding.

Do you have plans on Sunday, December 5?

If you don’t, come on out for a free beginners bird walk with BLV guide Alex Harper and a fleet of Red Rock Audubon volunteers and trip leaders.

This is great opportunity for anyone of our followers in Las Vegas to meet more of the birding community.

Come on out!

Scopes can really enhance a birding adventure. It’s one thing to see two distant Golden Eagles with binoculars. It’s a far different experience when the same birds can be seen blinking their eyes, or their feathers blowing in a desert’s valley breeze.

Is parking by a bird feeder to get easy looks at uncommon birds cheating? got our latest BLV birder on a Clark's Nutcracker and several Steller's Jays today. After birding the wetlands and desert of the valley, they ascended into the mountains to seek out these Corvids, Townsend's Solitaire, Pygmy Nuthatches, Mountain Chickadees, finches, and more.

We aren’t responsible for naming the Phainopepla a Phainopepla. But we would try and show you a few of them.
