Growing up in Detroit,Michigan,Cyn LaTrice Smith always stood out with her passion for hair. Enthusiastically, she easily became the go to person in her town, it didnt take long, of course. She relished in the opportunity to service all of her colleagues and their family, while producing extraordinary results... at a very young age . ervice clients, but to become a 'Master Stylist'. Braids and twist turned to finger waves, to masterful color and Up Do's, you name it. What stood out distinctively for Cyn Smith, was her ability to create unique looks with extensions color and cut, total transformation she likes to call it. Her self taught install and excessive training with hair color eventually grew and exceeded her clients' every expectation but she didnt stop there she continues to train and challenge herself. It didn't take long to realize that her career would progress in great lengths due to her extreme creative artistic abilities. Cyn breathes hair and make-up, and takes pride in the works represented by her. LaTrice Smith can now proudly announce herself as a licensed hairstylist with 8+ years experience styling hair and 5+ as a master extension and hair color specialist. Let’s be real… your hair isn’t “not growing” 👀

It’s breaking faster than it can grow.

Nobody talks about this part.

You’re buying oils, vitamins, all the “growth” products…
but still doing the same things that are damaging your hair daily:

❌ Tight styles with no breaks
❌ Heat with zero protection
❌ Sleeping on cotton
❌ Skipping trims
❌ Dry, thirsty hair with no moisture routine

So yeah… it feels like it’s not growing.

But your ends are snapping off before you ever see the length.

Healthy hair = retained length. Period.

Once you fix that… everything changes.

Unpopular opinion… braids might be slowing your hair growth 👀

Not because braids are “bad”…
but because of how LONG you’re keeping them in.

Your hair grows in a cycle.
It needs movement, moisture, and regular care to stay healthy.

But when your hair is locked in braids for 6–10+ weeks:

❌ Your scalp gets dry and clogged
❌ Breakage builds up at the ends
❌ Shedding has nowhere to go
❌ Your strands get weaker over time

So when you finally take them out… it looks like you lost growth.

Truth is—you didn’t lose growth.
You lost retention.

Protective styles are supposed to PROTECT… not be permanent.

Healthy routine > long installs.

Try this instead:
✔ Keep braids in 3–4 weeks max
âś” Cleanse + hydrate your scalp weekly
âś” Give your hair a break between installs

That’s how you actually see length.
