Stephen Fried's latest update for Harvey Weekend. There will be events each evening from Thursday through Sunday. All events, excluding the Harvey Girls filming, will require a reservation.
Fred Harvey History weekend will be October 26-30 this year (beginning Thursday night with a free showing of "The Harvey Girls" in the museum auditorium.)
Lectures on Friday and Saturday afternoons at the New Mexico History Museum. There will be a new "FredHead Reception" at the museum Friday evening and the Fred Harvey Foodie Dinner & Auction will be Saturday evening at La Fonda on the Plaza. Sunday events move to Las Vegas, where there will be tours in the afternoon, a lecture, a private dinner at Kin at Castaneda Hotel and a farewell breakfast Monday morning.
You will want to have hotel rooms booked in Santa Fe starting either 10/26 or 10/27, and a room in Las Vegas on 10/29. We have arranged for discounted blocks of hotel rooms at La Fonda on the Plaza (for $199) and at the Old Santa Fe Inn (for $179.) You can call either hotel and ask for a reservation in the Fred Harvey Weekend block. Here's the online link for La Fonda https://be.synxis.com/?Hotel=207&Chain=56...
In Las Vegas, we are currently navigating around the international United World College meeting in town, which has all the city's hotel rooms currently booked that week as a precaution. We are working to free up rooms for 10/29. While we do that, we ask that you add your name to the wait list, which is being overseen by Estrella Martinez, who you can email at [email protected]. We expect to be able to accommodate anyone who needs a room on 10/29 to be with us through the end of Harvey weekend.
Individual tickets for the Harvey Weekend events go on sale June 1. Sponsorship opportunities, including multiple tickets for all events, are currently available. They can be purchased here: http://www.museumfoundation.org/harvey-weekend
