HUNDREDS OF TOURISM, HOSPITALITY WORKERS TO UNITE THIS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, WITH CAR PARADE ALONG LAS VEGAS BOULEVARD

“Light Up Las Vegas” Car Parade to Involve 300 Cars
Driving Length of Las Vegas Strip Beginning at Town Square, Concluding at
Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street
WHAT:
For the first time, this Wednesday, hundreds of tourism and hospitality workers will drive in unison along the length of Las Vegas Boulevard, beginning at Town Square Las Vegas and concluding at Fremont Street.

The goal? To show the world Las Vegas’ tourism industry will recover.

The “Light Up Las Vegas” car parade will take place in compliance with recommended social distancing guidelines; participants will not exit their vehicles when they arrive at the parade’s starting point.

WHEN:
This Wednesday, April 1
Cars to begin arriving at 5 p.m. with the procession scheduled to begin at approximately 5:15 p.m.

Guitar Center Parking Lot at Town Square Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV 89119

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY:
Allison Raskansky, event organizer and managing director, Best American Destinations; she can be available for Skype, Zoom or phone interviews by request between now and 2 p.m. on April 1.

VISUALS:
Late Afternoon:​
Live shots to preview an empty Las Vegas Boulevard before parade begins. With advance notice, drivers showcasing vehicles sporting tourism company logos.

5 p.m.
Cars begin arriving at Town Square’s Guitar Center parking lot.

5:15 p.m.​
An estimated 300 cars to begin driving north on Las Vegas Boulevard toward Downtown Las Vegas.

5:15 to 6:15 p.m.
Cars continue to drive on Las Vegas Boulevard with headlights on, blaring “Viva Las Vegas.”

6:15 p.m. (approximate time)
Cars arrive at Fremont Street, continue to their individual destinations (there is no stopping point for the parade).
