The Rat Pack’s iconic first performance as a group in Las Vegas occurred on this day in 1960 at the Sands Hotel and Casino. During the filming of Ocean's 11, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop began performing together in the Copa Room, turning their "Summit at the Sands" act into a legendary Las Vegas staple. The Crash Pad honors this film with a copy of the advance poster prominently displayed in the entry.

On this date in 1990, the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, coached by legendary Jerry "Tark the Shark" Tarkanian, displayed the most dominant performance in NCAA National Championship history, crushing the Duke Blue Devils, 103-73 to claim the school’s first NCAA Championship. The Crash Pad is a short 5 minute drive to the home of the Rebels, the Thomas and Mack Center!

On this date in 1967, Evel Knievel attempted a ramp-to-ramp jump over the fountains at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The jump failed and the crash left Knievel with a crushed pelvis and femur, fractures to his hip, wrist, and both ankles, and a concussion, but the attempt shot him to stardom. The Crash Pag features a fine art print of S**g's "The Triumph of Evel", which honors this attempt.

On this date in 1971, "Diamonds Are Forever" was released, featuring James Bond's investigation into a diamond smuggling ring that leads him to Las Vegas. Agent 007 infiltrates the smuggling operation to thwart a global destabilization plot. To honor the film, The Crash Pag features a fine art print of S**g's "Bambi and Thumper", which showcases two of the movie's many villains.
