Six of us began this journey in Peru, where we explored the Sacred Valley, stood in awe of Machu Picchu, and even made it to the summit of Rainbow Mountain.

Then our group of eight came together to explore the Galápagos Islands aboard the National Geographic Endeavour II. Along the way, we made new friendships, experienced some of the most incredible wildlife on Earth, and photographed countless unique species that we’ll never forget.

As we fly back to the U.S. tonight, our cameras are full, our hearts are full, and we’re bringing home memories that will last a lifetime.

One of the things that makes the Galápagos so incredible is experiencing two completely different worlds in the same day. We hiked with the National Geographic naturalists, then headed out on several unforgettable snorkeling adventures.

Another incredible day in the Galápagos!

Yesterday we headed out for a deep-sea kayaking adventure on the island of Floreana. Taking in the rugged coastline from the water was such a fun way to experience these islands.

Day 1 in the Galápagos aboard

On Sunday we were surrounded by some of the most incredible wildlife on Earth. We watched Marine Iguanas basking on lava rocks. They look like mini Godzillas! We saw Waved Albatrosses soaring overhead and tending to their nests, and playful Galápagos Sea Lions lounging along the shore.

Words truly fail me. The eight of us spent Sunday snorkeling and later enjoyed a beautiful hike along the water. Around every corner was another moment we never imagined experiencing.

The Galápagos continues to exceed all of our expectations!

Today we board the National Geographic Endeavour II and it finally feels real. To travel with Nat Geo will be unbelievable.

For some of us, this has been a dream trip decades in the making. After years of talking about it, planning for it, and hoping we’d one day make it here, we’re finally setting off to explore the Galápagos together.

There are 8 of us on this adventure, and we’re excited to photograph the incredible wildlife, experience the beauty of these islands, and make memories we’ll be talking about for years to come. Here’s to the journey ahead! 🐢🐦📷🌊

Today was all about Machu Picchu. I truly have no words to express what we saw and experienced.

I’m dating myself here, but back in the 1970s there was a TV show called In Search Of… hosted by Leonard Nimoy. I was 11 years old when I first saw Machu Picchu featured and told myself, one day, I will get there.

Photos simply cannot capture the feeling of standing in this extraordinary place, so I felt a video would better showcase its grandeur. Surrounded by towering peaks, ancient stone terraces, and the remarkable ingenuity of the Inca civilization, this place completely took our breath away.

Some destinations live up to the hype. Machu Picchu exceeded it. Absolutely unforgettable. The audio is performed by a Peruvian artist. ❤️🇵🇪✨⛰️

Sunday was all about hiking and climbing. We explored the Incan ruins of Ollantaytambo and Pisaq in Peru’s Sacred Valley. 🇵🇪✨

Ollantaytambo is one of the best-preserved Incan towns, known for its impressive terraces and remarkable stonework. The Incan people buried their dead in caves high on mountain cliffs!

Next we visited Pisaq which sits high above the valley and features agricultural terraces, temples, and stunning mountain views. We had a wonderful lunch in the town of Pisaq and met some local people.

After visiting the ruins, we boarded the train to Machu Picchu, where we’ll spend the next two days before experiencing this legendary wonder on Monday. 🚂⛰️
