We have so many lovely photographs of the Carpenter’s Cabin, I mean, so, so many. Sometimes I dig into our archives and find some I’ve forgotten about and they move me. They remind me that this is OUR cabin. I don’t mean just that we own it. I mean that I designed it for OUR family, inside and out. Every decision, every selection was intentional for OUR family. Sustainability and eco weren’t a marketing gimmick, it was how I wanted OUR family to vacation. The design wasn’t driven to influence people to book a stay, it was purposeful to inspire creativity in our grandchildren, to give us spaces to come together, and to slip away quietly. Spaces designed for the youngest family members and the oldest. Spaces to create lifelong, treasured memories.
Then we decided to let others enjoy it when our family wasn’t using it. And they, too, were moved. They felt the love, care, and intention poured into every detail. In the words of a young guest, “This is my favorite place to vacation! I can tell they really like kids”.
It’s true, but we’re really partial to five little ones in particular ❤️
