I just finished preaching through the book of Acts and one thing (of many) that overwhelmed me was how many setbacks and severe trials the Apostle Paul endured during his life of serving Christ. One of Paul’s goals was to be able to proclaim Christ in Rome. And of course he did. It is, also, where he was martyred.

Two years ago I had the privilege of tracing some of Paul’s missionary routes through Greece and Turkey. Next year I am looking forward to touring Rome where, even though he was a prisoner, he so effectively shared about Jesus that even people in Caesar’s household came to faith!! (Phil 4:22)

Recap of Rhine River Trip: We visited a few places that were important to the Protestant Reformation. One of the most well known was Worms, Germany. It was there that Martin Luther faced tremendous pressure to recant his teachings. He uttered the following words that have been captured by history - “Here I stand, I can do no other. Help me God.”

If you can spare about 16 minutes I encourage you to watch this video which will introduce you to one of history’s most consequential figures. I shared this with the group while we were in Worms.

Hello everyone! I’m heading off to Europe on Monday with a wonderful group of adventurers to tour five different countries and to sail on the Rhine River. As you may have heard, Europe has been in the grip of a historic drought and heatwave this summer so the water level is low which will cause us to alter our itinerary a little.

I would cherish your prayers. I will have had the privilege, with this group, to lead over 100 people on international trips and I see each trip as an amazing ministry opportunity. I have cherished memories of worshiping with the different groups at some of the most beautiful locations God has created. And on this trip we will get to visit some important Reformation sites. I’ll post pictures as time allows (we will be 6 hours ahead). I invite you to follow along.

Let’s go to the Christian Dinner Theater outside Charlotte and see the wonderful live performance of “The Real Christmas Story!”

Where? NarroWay Dinner Theater

When? November 28 (Saturday)

Time? 12:00pm show. The bus will leave Laurens at a time to be announced but it will be around 9:00-9:30am. We should return around 4:00pm.

Cost? The cost for the meal, show, and bus transportation is $125.

We will have a Christmas sweater contest as well as do some other fun things together.
