It’s been an exhausting 4 days…. 4 days of schlepping around in mud, getting covered in wet insulation, carrying out endless amounts of wet drywall, cabinets furniture and debris.
But!….. in the midst of tragedy beautiful things CAN come out of it!
Anderson County Dept of Public Safety has been phenomenal with bringing us lunch and dinner every day. They have made sure the Red Cross and other volunteer organizations have brought us cleaning supplies, tarps, mops, brooms, gloves, shovels, hand sanitizer etc. They are coordinating debris pick up and trash removal. I can’t say enough good things about John Shuttleworth and his crew! They have been our lifeline!
Our friends Toni Boer and Andrew Boer came out to help as well as our kids Jacob Gowen, Brooke Gowen, and Gus Tichenor and mom Janet Eckman Gowen. I can’t thank all of you enough! I love you guys so much and I am so fortunate to have a such a supportive family. ❤️ We couldn’t have accomplished the amount we did without you! 😘
We managed to get the entire house demo’ed with the exception of the fireplace and the bathtub. The restoration company will be there this week to take over with the cleaning, disinfecting and encapsulating the wet wood.
Now the phase of rebuilding starts! We hope to get everything back up and running in a few months…. Hopefully before my daughter’s wedding.
Thank you all for all the FB responses to my posts, messages, texts and phone calls from all of you. I truly could not have gotten through this rough time without the support and encouragement of family and friends!! A MILLION THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!!! 🙏🏼 WE FEEL THE LOVE!! ❤️
