Started off in the 50's this morning, then low 20's picking up at noon with +20mph winds coming out of the North! We got it done today with a nice Missouri 5 man.

They are finally making the push, Kansas City is looking good. Big front Moving in tomorrow.. Will it push all the birds out like the last one and re- lock all the ponds..? Who knows.. I do know we have some spots available for the rest of this week!

We're finally getting the much needed cold front. Looking into the Future forcast for the upcoming weeks, it looks very promising. We have VERY limited openings for weekends during December in MO/KS. We have avaliablitly all next week. Come sit in the field and watch migrators work.

❄️ Here we snow! Accumulating snow is possible from Saturday evening through early Sunday morning.

📏 More than an inch or two is possible across northeastern Missouri and neighboring parts of Iowa and Illinois—plan on winter‑weather driving conditions. Closer to Kansas City, the chances of exceeding an inch are low, with little or no impact expected on area roads. There could be some minor accumulation on yards.

❗Please keep in mind this is a 5‑day forecast, and locations, amounts, and impacts may change. I don’t provide specific snowfall amounts at this lead time because models struggle to accurately predict snow much beyond 48–72 hours, so I don't think showing those values helps you anticipate what will happen and how to prepare.

What we have been waiting for!

🥶 Arctic blast arriving around Thanksgiving, with snow to follow into the first couple of weeks of December?

🌡️ A sudden stratospheric warming event is expected at the end of November. This occurs when temperatures rapidly warm and winds weaken—or even reverse—in a layer of the atmosphere roughly 4 to 31 miles over the Arctic.

🌀 This sudden change can displace or split the polar vortex, which can send chunks of Arctic air barreling south into the Plains and Midwest. This typically happens in the weeks following a sudden stratospheric warming event. Predicting exactly where these chunks will go can be tricky.

❄️ An unstable polar vortex could lead to more bouts of snow and ice in Kansas City in December, but precipitation is the least certain part of this forecast.

🔍 We’ll continue to monitor conditions and model trends in the weeks after Thanksgiving. Until then, find your snow pants and shovel—you may need them!
