Interested in trying quilting? Time to not just think about it. Don't try. Just do it - Make the quilt! Quilting is so relaxing and a great way to express yourself artistically. This is my first quilt I ever made. I started with a simple patchwork design and a YouTube video series. Now? I'll try about anything, but my favorite is still the simple patchwork pattern. So are you just starting out? Try a charm pack and DO make a patchwork quilt.

Sewing the Last Christmas in July Block – Reindeer Appliqué | Table Runner & Pot Holders

In this live recording from TikTok, join me as I sew the final block in my Christmas in July sewing series—a charming reindeer appliqué that will complete our festive Christmas Table Runner and matching pot holders!

This last block features a beautiful brown reindeer cut from Timeless Treasures batik, appliquéd onto a 10x10 inch dark green Timeless Treasures batik block. I use my favorite blanket stitch at a 5mm length to give it that classic vintage Christmas feel—perfect for adding warmth and nostalgia to your holiday décor.

Leslie Powell Gallery shared my quilt, "My Grandmother's Heart", today that is currently on display there. I loved making this quilt even though it was very emotional. It was emotional going through my grandma's fabric, cutting into and making a quilt with her fabric, and making the label with her name.

I've decided what to do with my first quilt top of 2025! I picked 2 options. Which 2 do you think I am choosing? Comment with your 2 letter guess!

A. Quilt, bind, and call it good?
B. Do I make a second one to make the top longer and add borders?
C. Add border, quilt, and bind?
D. Make a second one for mommy and me quilts?

First quilt top completed of the new year!

What should I do with it now?
Quilt, bind, and call it good?
Do I make a second one to make the top longer and add borders?
Add border, quilt, and bind?
Make a second one for mommy and me quilts?
So many options and one more matching charm pack!

The SWOK Quilt Group assigned a charm pack challenge at the end of our November meeting to share at our January meeting. I was able to cut and complete the top in 3 days while my little girl napped. I only get about 2 hours a day to quilt (and take care of the house), so three days was super quick. This quilt top took one charm pack and some yardage. Best part? I had all of this fabric in my stash.
