ploring new trails. Although it was a bike race that first introduced me to Leadville, the friendly atmosphere & big mountain views are the reason I made it home. If you’ve spent time in this humble little town you know what I mean! Amber
Although Colorado has been home for twenty years, I grew up as a military child and lived all over the United States. This travel deepened my appreciation of our beautiful mountains, and this gorgeous state. A couple of years ago I moved to Leadville from the Front Range, settling in to a tiny home with my partner Renee and our boxer Lucy. In the summers, we love to climb 14ers, hike local segments of the Colorado Trail, and cheer our community on in the Leadville Race Series. In the winter we love snowshoeing, cross county skiing, and spending evenings by the fire. We love meeting our guests and sharing our incredible community with others. Giving back is central to our mission and we use our homes to support local community by providing free spaces for community groups, displaying local artists works of art, and investing a portion of proceeds into Leadville non-profits. Did you know- Leadville Boom Days is just around the corner!

From August 2nd-4th, Leadville Boom Days has a variety of events scheduled. You can enjoy Mining Competitions, the Big Band Swing Night, an Arts and Crafts Show, and the Historical B***o Race!

This fun-filled weekend will take you back to the good ole' mining days of Leadville!

At Big Buckle Mountain Homes, the Emerald Pines Escape is still available for that weekend! The 2 bedroom, 2 bath home sits on a forested acre close to town. It offers the serenity of nature, while still being less than a ten minute drive to the action of Boom Days in Downtown Leadville.

Congratulations to all of the participants of the Silver Rush 50 this past weekend! This 50 mile race has 8,000 feet of elevation gain, and tops out at over 12,000 feet! This is no easy feat, and to even attempt this race is something to be proud of! 👏👏👏👏👏

Also, a big thank you to the athletes that stayed at a Big Buckle Mountain Home this last weekend! It was wonderful to accommodate you for this memorable weekend!
