Katy’s Riverside Cottage is OPEN and ready for your Safe, Sanitized, Relaxing and Enjoyable stay!!!
Cozy and warm! Infrared fireplaces and heaters, as well as baseboard heat and good insulation keeps Katy’s Cottage quite comfy! All winter long!
The air conditioner (we call R2D2) is stored away for winter…but ready for those hotter summer days. And there’s those infrared/electric fireplaces that come in handy, and with such a cozy warmth on chilly mornings and evenings! (There’s baseboard heat in every room as well)
The deck furniture, table, chairs, are stored away, but there’s folding camp chairs that can be taken out on the huge deck….the River is flowing and making that beautiful sound...and there’s a few great places to eat very nearby! A real gem...Wildflour Restaurant only 10-15 minutes down the road at the Kahler Glen golf course, at the entrance to Lake Wenatchee State Park (but outside the park boundary, so you won’t need a Park Pass) Fantastic chef owned venture with world class food!
And...the 59er Diner, Which had burned down a few years or so ago, but is totally rebuilt and better than ever! It’s only 15-20 minutes from Katy’s Riverside Cottage. The Old Mill Café right up the road in Plain has really great Texas BBQ, and does fabulous breakfast too. A 5-10 minute walk from the cottage or 3 minute drive. Of note as well: the Plain Hardware Store, aside from having a fine selection of gifts and goods besides hardware and lumber, makes great espresso drinks, and pastries...and...has really delicious chile and soups!!!
We often run up there and get some to go, bring it back and enjoy out on the deck in warmer months at the cottage with a beer or glass of bubbly or wine!!
There’s a pic here of the ever so lovely Katy herself, enjoying a glass of bubbly on the deck on her birthday!
Rode the River trail in Wenatchee on our folding electric bikes!
The city of Wenatchee is only around 40-45 minutes away. Some good restaurants, historic downtown, lovely river park and a few “big box” stores...up the road in Wenatchee if you need them! Some cool antique malls on the way in Cashmere, and the famous “Applets & Cotlets” factory and outlet too!! Historic Museum and Pioneer Village there as well... beautiful drive with fruit stands and a few wineries too and a chance to see the topographical and vegetation change as you get slightly farther East! Pretty fascinating, and quite beautiful!!
