Taste. Smell. Explore. Seltzer’s Walk-In Smokehouse Tours are Back!

Smokehouse Tour (Monday-Friday): For 30-45 minutes, their expert guides will lead you through an in-depth look at each step of the smoked meat process. From the secret spice blends to hand-tended fires, witness the artistry that goes into creating our signature flavors.

Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats
• Walk-in tours available daily at the top of each hour, 10 AM–2 PM. Last tour departs at 2 PM.
• Closed-toe shoes are required.
• Children under the age of 5 are not permitted to enter the live production facility.

A Few Things to Know Before You Go:
• Check in at their retail location located at 209 N. Railroad Street, Palmyra, PA
• Long pants are required (no skirts or shorts)
• Closed toe shoes required. No heels recommended.
• No jewelry is permitted (gloves and band aids provided to cover up jewelry that cannot be removed)
• Children under 5 are not permitted on tours
• Hair and beard nets will be provided

🎃 How did Victorians Celebrate Halloween?

Halloween in the Victorian era was a little different from the Halloween we know today. Rather than trick-or-treating, Victorian-era Halloween celebrations often centered around parties, costumes, parlor games, fortune-telling, matchmaking games, mischief, and plenty of food. Guests might test their fortunes with apples, nuts, mirrors, or other playful divinations, while Halloween parties could include games, dancing, disguises, and elaborate decorations.

And of course, there were treats! Period descriptions of Halloween gatherings mention things like apples, nuts, gingerbread, candies, raisins, and other seasonal foods being served to guests.

So, while our Halloween celebration may have a rather more murderous twist, the spirit of the evening is surprisingly familiar: Merriment. Games. Good company. A little mystery. And something delicious to enjoy. That’s exactly what's planned for The Londonderry Inn & Estate this Halloween.

Come enjoy Victorian-inspired parlor games, seasonal bites and themed mocktails throughout the evening, mingle with fellow guests, meet our visiting authors, browse the Book Bar pop-up, and then put your powers of deduction to work as you investigate a murder hidden within the halls of Londonderry.

Some traditions change. Some traditions never go out of style. And we think the Victorians would have approved of a Halloween evening filled with merriment, mystery, and a little mischief.

Join our friends at Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats for a fun-filled, family-friendly Halloween celebration!

📜 History Happens Here — Hokes Meeting House, Lebanon

Have you ever driven by Hokes Meeting House on Rte. 72 and wanted to know more about it? This historic Lebanon County site has deep roots in the local community and in generations of Hoke family history. Built in 1758 beside the David Hoke farm, the meeting house marked an important moment in the region’s early settlement and religious life. For many years, it also hosted the Hoke Family Reunion, helping preserve the family’s local legacy.

The Hoke surname is German in origin, derived from Höke or Hake, meaning “small trader.” The family’s presence in Lebanon County reflects the area’s German and English settler heritage.

The meeting house and its surrounding cemetery are tied to Lebanon’s early 18th-century history, reflecting the agricultural and community life of the time. The Hoke family’s long-standing presence in the area is evident in both the meeting house’s history and the cemetery’s memorials.
