Doing some hiking, shuttling former and current hikers around, hanging out and doing some trail magic as I figure out the next stage of my adventure. Hope you all continue to follow along! I'm not done yet!

After heading to Roanoke to fix my generator, I headed back down south and stopped to find a few fellow hikers and say hello. Once I found everyone, I decided to take some time and hike around the Grayson Highlands until I figure out my next step. Rhododendums, mountain laurels, and flame Azaleas are everywhere! As well as the wild ponies! Come take a look!

Well folks, here is an unfortunate update regarding Flea Market and her Thru-Hike attempt. While on a hike, Flea Market got up wrong from a sitting position and pinched a nerve in her back, or so we thought. After coming off trail due to radiating leg pain, she went to several specialists and took xrays and an MRI. Unfortunately, the tests came back showing a stress fracture in her hip. She underwent surgery yesterday and is doing great. Sadly, this puts her hike on hold for awhile until she heals. She may be down, but she isn't out! Heal fast and sure, Flea Market, and see you back out here soon!
In the meantime, I'll be around the AT helping out other hikers, trying to drum up business and help for other hikers, doing trail magic, and maybe doing some of my own hiking, so stay tuned! The Adventures will continue!

Coming over the grassy balds, camping at Overmountain "shelter" (camping only now), and hiking over the Humps, to end at 19E was magical. Spending the time with Mighty Mouse was definitely a treat. We celebrated at Mountain Harbour and then headed to Damascus for a day followed by an overnight at Elk Garden trailhead to see the wild ponies. Alas, the weather has turned rainy, and Mighty Mouse's family had to cancel their meet up with us due to sickness.
I'm getting antsy to hike! Stay tuned!

Once hikers go up and down the grassy balds at Carvers Gap, hikers head back in the woods briefly before heading up, up, up, to Big and Little Hump balds. At just 15 miles between Carvers Gap and 19E, this is a favorite day hike for many since hikers traverse so many open balds with beautiful views into 2 states. Definitely a favorite hike to do in a day or split it up for a nice weekend getaway. Make sure you stop in at Mountain Harbour Bnb and Hostel at 19E to celebrate with food and a beer!

The hike up to the first bald and grassy areas for some picture perfect views of both into TN and NC. A blistering hot day as we traversed the 3 ups and downs of 3 different summits to get to the trail crossing where we split off from another climb. A few short miles later, we make it to a favorite camp spot of mine and the former location of the barn shelter. The night at the Overmountain camping area was peaceful and serene as we hung out for the day and evening to enjoy the serenity of the forest.
