What a great week for our Loudoun CTAs! 🍻👏

We kicked off last week with a new Loudoun CTA class at Black Hoof Brewing Company, welcoming 11 new ambassadors to the program. These hospitality professionals and community members spent the day learning more about Loudoun’s attractions, experiences and the many ways they can help visitors make the most of their time here.

We also brought CTAs together at Black Hoof for a CTA Networking Night — a great opportunity to connect with fellow ambassadors, share ideas and enjoy some Virginia craft beer.🍺 A big thank you to Black Hoof Brewing Company for hosting us and to everyone who joined us!

“I’m excited to begin this next chapter and bring more than 20 years of hospitality and tourism experience to a community that already has personal meaning to me. I spent more than 17 years with Marriott International before moving from hotel sales to destination sales for Choose Chicago. Representing an entire destination gave me a broader perspective on the meetings industry and an even greater appreciation for the impact groups and meetings can have on a community.

This job allows me to bring those two perspectives together while working alongside our team and industry partners to grow meetings and group business.

When not working, I like to discover a great restaurant, hunt for a vintage treasure or find a new corner of Virginia to explore. That natural curiosity is probably one of the reasons I found my way into tourism. I look forward to discovering even more of Loudoun and getting to know the people who make its tourism community so special.”

This forum is designed for hotel and bed and breakfast owners, management company executives, general managers, revenue managers, directors of sales and marketing and Loudoun County leaders interested in gaining insight into current travel trends, economic developments and Visit Loudoun’s ongoing marketing efforts. Presentations will be provided by Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Tourism Economics, Loudoun County Economic Development and Visit Loudoun. The forum is intended to help attendees better forecast for the year ahead while gaining valuable information on emerging opportunities and developments shaping the future of Loudoun.

We are excited to share that the Town of Leesburg, Virginia has partnered with Visit Loudoun to offer a complimentary Loudoun Certified Tourism Ambassador Network class exclusively for Town of Leesburg businesses, hospitality employees, volunteers and residents.

The class will be held at Black Hoof Brewing Company on Wednesday, August 19, from 10:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Whether you work with visitors every day or simply enjoy sharing all that Loudoun has to offer, this fun, interactive class will help you become a better ambassador for our community. You'll strengthen your customer service skills, learn more about Loudoun's attractions and discover new ways to answer one of the most common questions visitors ask: "What's there to do in Loudoun?"

To earn the CTA designation, participants complete a short pre-class reading assignment, attend the half-day training session and pass an open-book exam. Graduates receive a CTA certificate and lapel pin and become part of Loudoun's growing CTA community, with access to networking events, educational programs, volunteer opportunities and exclusive CTA benefits throughout the year.

Thanks to the Town of Leesburg's sponsorship, this class is complimentary for Town of Leesburg businesses, hospitality employees, volunteers and residents. Hunt Country Celebrations and Visit Loudoun will host a Wedding & Event Industry Mixer from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 25, at Mt. Defiance Cidery and Distillery.

The complimentary networking event is open to all professionals in the wedding and event industry, regardless of membership with Hunt Country Celebrations or Visit Loudoun.
