Storm Spoons

I create usable utensils from storm damaged wood. I also do custom carving from others storm damaged wood.

I hand carve bowls, spoons, and other utensils from storm damaged wood. If you happen to experience a storm and would like something made please contact me. I can utilize most hardwoods (not oak, or pine) and fruit trees. If you would like something made and personalized lets talk!

The last of the bowls came out of the kiln, and are shipped off.
I really like the clay I have and have been working on making consistent shapes and sizes. I was able to throw my first plate but I need more practice to get consistent forms.

I have 5 bowls for sale (I honestly just sold 18). So this might be the last I have available for 2023.
I can ship USA for $25. (This is priority with insurance). I can probably fit 3-4 bowls in a box if you wanted more than one. Local delivery no charge. Pm me for prices.

Was give an awesome piece of black walnut. This side was truly amazing!. Decided to keep this one. Sanded up to 1000, then epoxy sealed. Love the depth and quilting. The second picture shows the quilting. Worth the swipe.

2021 psyanky eggs. Nadia did the bottom row I did the top. We used a kiska, beeswax, and dye to create them. We layer colors and wax.

Maple syrup time!! Crazy wind, sun, snow, sometimes all at the same time. Finishing up inside.

New bowl out of the kiln. I think it's a keeper. Thrown on the wheel and fired to come 05, with cone 05 glaze.

Black walnut table is done!!! There are three coats of mirror finish epoxy on the slab and it looks awesome. The third picture shows the knot and quilting. So very happy with how it came out. As you can see it fits our mudroom perfectly. Very happy we went with the taller legs.

Working on a slab table top today. Using Mirror Finish by System 3 Epoxy.
I milled the black walnut slab, sanded it from 80-150-220-330 with an orbital sander then went up to 2k grit by hand.
The grain, quilting, and knots really pop! This took 4 oz of part A. I plan on doing two or three total coats. 4 hours and I can peel the tape, and do the next layer. Once that is done the legs will be attached.

Bowl #2 another 6" eating bowl. Did a few modifications to the sides. Really like the way this glaze picked up the inner swirl. The sides were carved when the clay was leather hard. It reminds me of a forest.

A bowl just out of the kiln. I really like the shape of this bowl. It's 6" across. I tried doing a leaf stamp/monoprint on the inside. I have a few other bowls I'll be posting pictures of. They are not for sale just for our use.
