The Town of Alderson and the Greenbrier Valley lost an outstanding community member. Fawn Valentine was a fierce advocate for her beloved town. We have been grateful for her service and dedication to our board since she was appointed in 2017. We will miss her positive attitude and her kindness.
A true public servant passed away yesterday afternoon after a hemorrhagic stroke. Fawn Valentine was my liaison for many groups. Her mission was always helping others. From the career at FMRS to Planning Commission president, Fawn was always looking out for others.
Fawn loved her membership with Alderson Main Street, her work with the community market, and was proud of the accomplishments of the Alderson Municipal Planning Commission. She took the task to hand when I asked her to make our Comprehensive Plan compliant. Fawn put her heart into her work.
She will always be remembered for being grateful when people helped her. Fawn never shared her own issues of health as a reason she couldn’t accomplish anything. Always lifting up anyone she encountered and just being Fawn.
Not only will many friends miss her, but a huge hole is in my heart as I write this post. Fawn, you truly were an amazing lady. We will not forget your work and we will honor you with the diligence you gave us.
Rest eternally in peace Fawn.
