Larry and Nick put the hammer down Wednesday morning on some eating size blue cats and one nice crappie suffering from an identity crisis. They brought back 24 blues and the 1 crappie to the cleaning table. We ran across a school of sandbass on the way back to the dock, catching and releasing one after another for about 15 minutes. Most were undersized, but it was still fun. Fresh shad with Dead Red Blood Spray put the catfish and the crappie in the box. The sandbass were caught on Fle-Fly Go Go Minnows.

Kevin brought his two sons out for a great morning of catfising on Lake Lewisville. Weather was great with a nice breeze and cloudy conditions to start out the day. Grant had the first fish out of the gate with a really nice blue that weighed just shy of 10 lbs. He had his hands full with a hard fighting summer time blue cat. Conner was right behind him with another nice blue cat that was about the same size. They enjoyed a steady bite all morning catching eating size blue cats and a few channel cats. Baits used on this trip were fresh gizzard and threadfin shad with Dead Red Blood Spray and Sudden Impact Fiber Bait from Team Catfish. The crew finished up the trip with close to 100 lbs of fish caught and took home 3 gallon bags stuffed full of fresh catfish fillets.

Allen and his buddies got into some summer time blues and a few channel cats Saturday morning on Lake Lewisville. Fresh shad with Dead Red Blood Spray caught most of the blues. Caught a few channel cats and small blues on Sudden Impact as well. I still have some weekend dates and plenty of weekdays open for the rest of summer. Get those kiddos on the water one more time before they go back to school.

Back from our OKC vacation with the family. Had a great time watching the World Cup of Softball, caught a Redhawks game and ate way too much catfish. We are getting some much-needed rain right now and should have the fish fired up. Plenty of dates available for the rest of July and August.

Had some old highschool buddies come up to fish with me Tuesday morning. Jason bought this trip through the McAuliffe Elem. auction to help out our school. Fishing was a bit slow, but no shortage of sharing old memories and catching up. Rod brought his "magic pole" and landed the big fish of the day with a nice blue that weighed 15 lbs. The big fish was released after a couple of photos. They ended the trip with just enough fillets for a nice fish fry that evening. Thanks again fellas! Can't wait to have you guys back in the boat again sometime.

Matt and Carl fished with me this morning on Lewisville. They wanted to learn a bit on catching summer time blues. We fished several different patterns and caught fish at each setup. The bite was steady until the wind died and changed directions towards the end of the trip. Final count was 18 blues up to 10 lbs and a couple of channel cats that had a craving for our fresh shad. Dead Red Blood Spray helped turn a potentially slow day into a decent outing. I use it on every bait, every cast. Here's a photo of their catch.

Tim, Kathleen, Delaney, and Joe came out for a beautiful summer time morning for chasing blue cats. The winds were steady and created a nice cool breeze. It also had the fish fired up. Blue cats were in order for this trip and they were more than willing to cooperate for these anglers. Kathleen had the hot seat and landed the most and the biggest fish of the trip. I think it was her lucky catfish call. Two trips for her in my boat and two victories over the other anglers as well. Fresh cut shad with Dead Red Blood Spray from Team Catfish was our bait of choice. Always a pleasure having this crew in the boat.

These fellas from the big town of Cranfills Gap came all the way up to Lake Lewisville to learn how to locate and catch some channel cats Thursday morning. No need for chumming or fishing over baited holes. My methods focus on locating and catching active feeding fish in their natural environments. Using great baits such as Secret 7 and Sudden Impact from Team Catfish will help you catch more fish as well. They caught well over 100 fish, but only kept about 30 for a family fish fry.

After a week-long vacation to Disney with the family, I got right back into some blue cat action Saturday morning on Lake Lewisville. Ken, Tony and Chris joined me for a half-day guided catfishing trip. The early bite was a little slow and took us a while to find some active fish. Once we did the action was great. They finished the trip with 25 blues and 5 channel cats making an appearance on the tail gate. Fresh shad with Dead Red Blood Spray from Team Catfish was our bait of choice on this trip.
