That brown water and seaweed-covered beach? That’s sargassum, and it’s hitting parts of Mexico hard right now, especially along the Riviera Maya and Tulum coastline.

If you saved up for a dream beach vacation and booked it yourself without knowing about this, I’m so sorry. This is exactly why working with a travel advisor matters.

I love Mexico. I really do. But right now I’m not actively sending clients there…and if I do, it’s to very specific resorts in locations that historically receive significantly less sargassum. Even then, I can’t make guarantees. Nature does what it wants.

What I can do is steer you toward alternatives that give you those white sandy beaches and that stunning blue water you’re dreaming about, without the big gamble.

Mom hears her name hundreds of times a day.

Between the meal planning, the school runs, the “what’s for dinner” at 9am, the laundry, the schedules, the snack requests, and somehow knowing where everything is in the entire house…Mom is always ON.

3 things your all-inclusive resort won’t tell you (but I will):

🏨 Premium rooms sell out MONTHS ahead. Better views, beach access, quieter spots—they’re gone fast. Book early or settle for what’s left.

🌊 Not all “ocean views” are created equal. One room gets sunsets and direct beach access. Another? Partial view, noisy neighbor, garden wall. Layout and floor matter.

📍 Location inside the resort changes everything. Close to the beach and restaurants = peaceful mornings and easy evenings. Far walk after a long day? Not so much.

Booking the resort is step one. Nailing the right room is what turns good into unforgettable.

Last night I got to enjoy a Savannah Bananas game thanks to one of my amazing travel partners. ⚾🍌
