Today was supposed to be my kids’ first day of enrichment school.

Instead, we’re on day two of fevers. 😩

I was sick last week, and now they’ve got it.

It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t convenient. And there wasn’t anything we could do about it.

Sometimes, you just have to stay home.

And honestly, this is one of the reasons I always recommend travel insurance to my clients.

Because the same thing can happen when you’ve planned a vacation months in advance.

A child gets sick.
You get sick.
A family emergency happens.
Something completely outside your control changes your plans.
OR you get sick in destination, where our health insurance is useless.

You can plan the resort.
You can choose the perfect room.
You can make all the arrangements.

But you can’t always plan for life.

That’s why I don’t look at travel insurance as just another expense. I look at it as protecting the vacation you’ve worked hard and saved for.

It’s not about expecting something to go wrong.

It’s about having a plan if it does.

And that’s why I always offer it to my clients. ❤️

Because sometimes life comes at you.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve really enjoyed watching the recent foreigners visit Texas and fall in love with it. Watching World Cup visitors discover that America isn’t what they’ve been told has me asking a bigger question...

How many countries have we been lied to about?

I can’t help but think the media has done a great job of convincing us that some places are far more dangerous or undesirable than they actually are.

Mexico completely changed my perspective. Jamaica may be another. The more I travel, the more I realize firsthand experience often tells a very different story than the headlines.

TIP: Turn off the news, and talk to a travel advisor. We have connections in location that tell a different story than the media.

What country surprised you the most once you finally visited?

That brown water and seaweed-covered beach? That’s sargassum, and it’s hitting parts of Mexico hard right now, especially along the Riviera Maya and Tulum coastline.

If you saved up for a dream beach vacation and booked it yourself without knowing about this, I’m so sorry. This is exactly why working with a travel advisor matters.

I love Mexico. I really do. But right now I’m not actively sending clients there…and if I do, it’s to very specific resorts in locations that historically receive significantly less sargassum. Even then, I can’t make guarantees. Nature does what it wants.

What I can do is steer you toward alternatives that give you those white sandy beaches and that stunning blue water you’re dreaming about, without the big gamble.

Jamaica. Turks and Caicos. Aruba. Curaçao. The options are gorgeous.

Mom hears her name hundreds of times a day.

Between the meal planning, the school runs, the “what’s for dinner” at 9am, the laundry, the schedules, the snack requests, and somehow knowing where everything is in the entire house…Mom is always ON.

She doesn’t clock out. She doesn’t get a lunch break. She just loves her people and keeps going.

So this Mother’s Day? Give her the one thing she truly deserves:

Absolute. Silence. On a beach. 🌊🍹

An all-inclusive means no meal planning, no schedules, no deciding what everyone is eating for the next 7 days. Just ocean views, someone bringing her a drink for once, and the luxury of doing absolutely nothing, guilt free. This is why I love them.

She’ll come back rested, recharged, and ready to be the incredible woman your family is so lucky to have. 🤍

Here’s what I’m seeing right now in real time:

✈️ Flights to the Caribbean and Mexico for June and July are filling fast, and prices are climbing with them.

🏨 The good resort rooms (yes, the actual good ones) are going quickly.

🌊 All-inclusive availability for summer is tighter than it was even 3 weeks ago.

The good news? There is still availability,
and I know exactly where to look.
