Our jobs for the weekend....we volunteer at the SAHIBA Spring Horse show - Arabian horses of all sorts! Their group is one of the sponsors for the Run for Sight and in turn, we work their show.

Special guests at our meeting-Teresa Hart with LIONS PROJECT. Hewhig X and Harmo y IV were the 4-legged guests. These folks along with Canine Companions raise and train service dogs for people with all types of disabilities. The dogs go thru extensive training in order to serve their person.

2024 Run for Sight is complete. We arrived at Masterson Station before daylight to set up tables and get the coffee brewing. People started coming as the sun came up. By race time, there was 203 registered - participants from 2-87 years old. We had dogs, babies in strollers, families running together, the Lion, sunshine and blue skies. It was a bit cool but all in all, we had a wonderful morning for the race. Thanks to all our sponsors, donors, and friends and especially all the runners who came out! See you all next April.

Come join the fun as we raise fund for the Lexington South Lions Club Sight Initiatives.

Run on a unique course that is only approved for this race each year. Free photos (Thanks Ruby Cline-Eaton), Overall & AG Awards, colorful shirts (while supplies last) and over 75 door prizes that will be awarded after the race.

Doug and Susan Dance were on TV again yesterday. This time it was Channel 27 mid-morning show! We shared about the upcoming Run for Sight on April 6 at Masterson Station Park, start time 9am. We helped collect bottle caps, had a bench made then presented it to a senior living community where Mildred McIntyre, one of our members lives. She is the one with the sun glasses on...99 years young!!

She is legally blind. Leader Dogs for the Blind has helped her, trained her with a white cane and SHE wanted to thank US, as Lexington South Lions Club for what we do to support Leader Dogs.
