More Carolina bbq in Lexington, NC at Bridgett’s Kitchen. Not typical pork shoulder bbq but very good. Love the red slaw! And service was great.

High Cotton BBQ in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina….a bit Carolina bbq & a bit Texas. They also serve delicious fried chicken! I had sliced brisket…nice bark & smoky flavor. The smoked cabbage as a side was soooo good. The fried okra was done perfectly…and the coleslaw was a mayo based but not over the top. Super service also!

Lexington BBQ—Lexington, NC is supposed to be the capital of western Carolina style bbq. They use pork shoulder. The “sauce” is vinegar based. On the table was a hot sauce style shaker bottle of this restaurant’s home made sauce—but you could also get “dip” which was a broth like vinegary bbq sauce. Red slaw—coleslaw made with ketchup! And Cheerwine!!!!!!
