As part of the ACE Mentor Program of the Bluegrass, our Lafayette High School students get the opportunity to learn & practice construction tasks under the supervision & guidance of trade professionals. This year our demonstrations included electrician basics, nail driving, brick laying, rebar tying, 3D survey scanning, and VR usage during construction. Thanks to our Participating Construction Partners for making this year such a success: AE Electrical Solutions, Clay Ingels & Mason Structure, Congleton-Hacker Co. , Gray, Qk4 - Engineering & Planning , Turner Construction Company & Walsh Group.

Kaitlyn May is a 3rd-year ACE of the Bluegrass student whose work reflects her immense talent and preparation.

Through ACE, Kaitlyn has spent the past three years developing the skills architects use every day—design thinking, iteration, visual communication, and portfolio development. The work shown here represents three years of design exploration, compiled and refined into a cohesive portfolio during the first six weeks of this semester’s ACE program.

Kaitlyn has been accepted into both Miami University’s Architecture program and the University of Cincinnati’s Architecture program—a milestone that reflects the depth of her portfolio and the foundation developed through ACE.
