How much do you know about the women who helped shape Lexington?

Located just outside the Lexington Visitors Center, the "Something Is Being Done" monument celebrates more than 20 women whose stories span from the Revolutionary era to the present day. Designed by Meredith Bergmann, and spearheaded by , the monument shines a light on the women whose leadership, resilience, and determination helped shape Lexington's history.

As you explore the monument, you'll meet women like Ruth Stone Buckman, whose work at Buckman Tavern supported the Lexington militia on April 19, 1775, and Sylvia Ferrell-Jones, a civil rights advocate whose lifelong work in supporting racial and gender justice was recognized with the Racial Amity Award in 2015. Their stories, and many more, are woven into this remarkable work of art. Check out these stores through link in bio.
