Hey Limestone Limousines!
Hope you all are doing well and beating the heat! I have met a few of you on this email list… but for those who don’t know, my name is Brett! I am the new manager of Limestone Limousines and it gives me great honor to write you this letter and hopefully meet you in the future.
The past few months have been exciting and full of change, as well as full with learning experiences. I come from a farming background while growing up in the thoroughbred industry with my parents Barry and Jan, but hospitality really became my forte when we started offering tours of our horse farm.
Telling our family story to (by the end of it) almost eight thousand people, was an incredible experience. I could not believe how many people came on our tour as strangers and left the property as a friend. People who I would have never met, traveled on their vacation to see me, my mom and our horses.
It sparked a huge pride within me regarding Kentucky and all it has to offer, from bourbon to horses to hiking and climbing the Red River Gorge. And all I wanted to do was share it.
After we sold our farm a year ago in January, I ended up at Castle & Key distillery and leaned further into learning more about the amazing history, production, and people that it takes for my favorite bourbon to end up in my cabinet. Giving tours here led to meeting even more cool visitors, but I was missing the farm more and more by the month (except for foaling season, but that’s another conversation ha-ha).
In comes Tony. A great family friend and fellow tour operator Martha Martin called me one day and proudly announced she had found the perfect job for me, she gave me Tony’s phone number and said he would call me shortly after. Lo and behold, he did, and told me he was looking for someone to run his new limousine service. I couldn’t believe it. But long story short Tony Mills and partner Will Arvin (of Castle & Key) went all-in on Brett Butzer as manager.
Okay! Background done, now on to you!
We had a great Keeneland Spring and Derby season to get off on the right foot. And I can’t wait for fall in Kentucky. There are some fantastic opportunities we can offer for this season.
