Disney Cruise Line Revises Multiple Policies Including Stateroom Door Decoration, Selfie Sticks, and Carry-On Alcohol
Disney Cruise Line Alcohol Policy:
The revised alcohol policy will allow a guest to bring a 6-pack of beer or 1 bottle of wine/champagne (previously it was 2 bottles) onboard in their carry-on bags. Additionally, the corkage fee has been lowered $9 to $20.
All alcohol, including liquors, spirits, wine and beer purchased in ports of call will be collected and stored until the end of the cruise. You are responsible for retrieving it at the end of the cruise. NO compensation if you forget it.
Photography Equipment: Selfie Stick, Extension Poles, and Tripods
Disney Cruise Line now has a refined policy on selfie sticks, extension poles, and tripods. Guests are welcome to use selfie sticks and extension poles onboard in most areas onboard as long as they are folded and under 18 inches (457mm).
To help keep shared spaces safe and comfortable for everyone onboard, selfie sticks, hand‑held extension poles, and tripods may be brought onboard and used in most areas, as long as they are folded down and no longer than 18 inches. Items exceeding this length must be stored in the Guest’s stateroom and may only be used on land in ports of call.
Stateroom Door Decoration Policy
The most significant policy update revolves around a unique Disney Cruise Line tradition: decorating stateroom doors. While the cruise line welcomes and appreciates when guests personalize their stateroom doors, there are safety concerns regarding the ingress and egress of staterooms and potential bottlenecks in the hallway corridors.
Going forward, the cruise line requests that guests limit their decor to only the stateroom door. This means avoiding items placed on the ceiling or on the hallway walls. Although the policy doesn’t explicitly state this, guests should exercise restraint to prevent door decorations from extending outward into the hallway. The decoration policy does NOT impact Fish Extenders as those are still permitted to hang outside your stateroom.
