This equine rescue and sanctuary in Paris, Kentucky is one of six non-profit operations that offer tours through Horse Country. Along with tours of the property, they now offer trail riding experiences!

If petting horses and learning about history sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon, let us introduce you to the storied Runnymede Farm 🐴

Located in Paris, Runnymede is the oldest continuously-operated Thoroughbred nursery farm in Kentucky. Future racehorses have been raised on this property for over 150, including Kentucky Derby winner Mage and other champions.

We're excited to celebrate National Adopt a Horse Month each May, a month celebrating equine rescues and sanctuaries helping horses who need a second chance.

The Secretariat Center helps racehorses transition from the track to the show ring. Located on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park, the Center houses up to ten off the track Thoroughbreds at a time who are in training for a second career.

On a visit to the Secretariat Center, you'll have a chance to meet their adoptable horses and will often see a training demonstration. Plus, tour proceeds are directly utilized by the organization to support their work.
