It’s time to kick off our summer art quest, Choose Your Journey! This week, we’re digging deep into the grit, glory, and history that built Liberal. Dust off your sneakers and head out to see the soul of the plains through three incredible murals:

Some might say Kansas is a flyover state, but as Christopher Kirkham Photography so rightly points out, they couldn’t be more wrong. There is so much to explore here, and our local towns provide a rewarding quality of life you just can't find in a big city. It’s a more peaceful, slow-paced lifestyle and life is what you make of it.

As someone born in a big city, moving to Liberal completely captured my heart. What makes this town worth living in is a foundation rooted in a vibrant cultural, a true feeling of community, and genuine kindness.

I see that warmth every single day—in our diverse celebrations, our delicious local eateries, and our mom-and-pop shops. It’s in the people who stand up to make a difference, and the neighbors who truly look out for one another.

I am proud to call Liberal, Kansas home!
