It came to our attention this weekend that an online auction site inadvertently misrepresented and sold a bowl as being one of ours, when it obviously wasn’t. You can always tell that a bowl is a Berry Creek heirloom by the markings on the bottom. The Bowlmaker woodburns his initials (RR) and the bowl's number and type of wood on each handmade bowl.

It’s that time of year again—time to get out Mama’s Easter egg collection. Some are marble, some wooden, large and small, an egg-shaped rock we brought her from our vacation, a yo-yo, and there’s even an egg eraser in the pile!

What Can You Put in a Bowl?

Apples, oranges, lemons, too,
Christmas cards and letters,
Biscuit dough or fresh-baked rolls,
Ummm, that’s even better.
Balls of yarn all wound up tight,
Easter eggs or candy,
Tootsie rolls or chocolate bars,
Any kind is dandy.
Wooden spools or salad tossed,
Christmas balls that shine,
Walnuts or bananas,
Why, just anything is fine.
Flowers, rolls, or potpourri,
Pine cones or some chips,
Marbles or some magazines,
Can you picture it?
Candles burning in a row,
Memories and kisses,
Freshly-cracked pecans are nice,
If that’s what your heart wishes.
Fill your bowl with anything,
You’ll find right from the start,
When bowls are filled with things you love
They somehow fill your heart.
