**Day 8: Spotlight on the French Riviera**

On our final day, we ventured to historic Saint-Paul-de-Vence, perched high on a hill overlooking the picturesque countryside of Provence. As we wandered through the walled medieval village, we soaked in the distinctive light that has long inspired masters such as Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, and Marc Chagall — a setting where art and history seem to meet at every turn.

This journey has been made even more special by sharing it with dear friends and by forming wonderful new friendships with fellow travelers from New Jersey, Maryland, Florida, and California.

We closed the evening gathered together for a farewell dinner, celebrating the memories, laughter, and unforgettable moments of an extraordinary Riviera adventure.

Day 7: Spotlight on the French Riviera - Today we experienced French Carnaval attending The Flower Parade featuring over 100,000 beautiful flowers, 80% which are grown locally. What an amazing celebration with elaborate costumes, dancing, music, floats and of course, flowers. 🌺

Day 6: Spotlight on the French Riviera - Today we traveled to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, often called the crown jewel of the French Riviera, for a visit to the magnificent Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. From its opulent interiors to its exquisitely manicured gardens, every corner offered breathtaking views of the sparkling Mediterranean and sweeping vistas over the beautiful Bay of Villefranche. We enjoyed a delightful lunch in the villa’s tearoom, dining high above the coastline and savoring both the cuisine and the scenery. Later in the afternoon, we uncovered the secrets of fragrance-making during a guided tour of Fragonard Parfumeur, where fine perfumes have been crafted since 1782 — a true immersion into the artistry of French perfumery. After returning to Nice, the excitement continued as we attended one of the world’s oldest and most celebrated carnivals, the Nice Carnival. Dating back to the Middle Ages, the dazzling Parade of Lights featured massive illuminated floats, elaborately costumed performers, music, and nonstop celebration — an unforgettable finale to an extraordinary day on the Riviera.

Day 5: Spotlight on the French Riviera - Today we journeyed along the breathtaking Corniche coastal road to the glamorous principality of Monaco, where sweeping Mediterranean views set the tone for a spectacular day. Our first stop was the beautiful Monaco Cathedral, the final resting place of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly. We then witnessed the traditional changing of the guards at the Prince's Palace of Monaco, a proud display of Monégasque pageantry.
From there, the day unfolded with something for everyone. Some enjoyed a scenic ride on Monaco’s panoramic Little Train, traveling onward to the elegance of Monte Carlo, where our time concluded with a visit to the iconic Monte Carlo Casino. Others explored the renowned Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, marveling at its impressive aquariums, fossils, and remarkable marine collections inspired by the legendary explorer Jacques Cousteau.
We wrapped up this unforgettable Riviera day by returning to Nice, with a warm, family-style dinner featuring delicious French and Italian cuisine at Félix’s Restaurant — the perfect ending to a spectacular journey along the coast. The vibrant lemon parade brought the town to life with dazzling floats, lively bands, energetic dancers, and even acrobats worthy of Cirque du Soleil.
And of course, no day in France would be complete without savoring a freshly made French crêpe — simple, delicious, and the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable celebration.

Day 3 Spotlight on the French Riviera. Today we did a walking tour of the Old City in Nice. An amazing market with many vendors from fruits and vegetables to artwork. Tastings of Carmelite onion pizza and more. Quaint shops and the start of Carnaval. A wonderful day on the French Riviera.

Day 2-Spotlight On The French Riviera. Experienced the Tram (public transportation)... very clean and worthwhile. Explored the Old City of Nice and took the little train to the Castle where there are panoramic views of the city and even a glimpse of the alps. Tapas and libations and a delicious dinner in Centre City. A fun day was had by all.

Day 1 - Spotlight On The French Riviera. Arrived in Nice, France spending a leisurely day of exploring, eating, libations and camaraderie. And supporting the 48th Annual 98.3 WSUL Heartathon from across the pond!
