Step back in time and celebrate the people, cultures, and stories that shaped Kauaʻi. 🌺
Kōloa Plantation Days returns July 17–26, 2026, with 10 days of cultural experiences, historic tours, live music, hula, local food, family activities, and community events across Kōloa and Poʻipū. This year's theme is "The Last Harvest."
Centered in historic Old Kōloa Town, the festival honors the many cultures that came together after Hawaiʻi's first successful commercial sugar plantation was established in Kōloa in 1835. More than a look back at the plantation era, Kōloa Plantation Days celebrates the resilience, traditions, and lasting contributions of the diverse communities who helped shape Kauaʻi into the island we know today.
Whether you're a resident or visiting the Garden Isle, there are dozens of ways to join the celebration—from historic walking tours and cultural demonstrations to the beloved Kōloa Plantation Days Parade, craft fairs, culinary events, and family-friendly activities.

🏖️ If you see Portuguese man o' war on the beach or in the water, avoid contact.
👀 Keep an eye on keiki and pets, as tentacles can still sting even after washing ashore.

⚠️ Ocean Safety Notice – Hanalei Bay ⚠️

The County of Kauaʻi has issued a No Swimming Notice for Hanalei Bay due to heavy runoff and brown water conditions.

For your health and safety, please avoid entering the water until the advisory is lifted. Storm runoff can carry debris, bacteria, and other contaminants that may pose health risks.

If you're visiting the North Shore, consider enjoying Hanalei's scenic beauty from shore or exploring other land-based activities while conditions improve.

Please follow the County of Kauaʻi for the latest updates and always check current ocean conditions before heading to the beach.
