☀️ Robinson Raft-Up Crew – Saturday, May 16, 2026 ☀️
Join us for a laid-back day of boating, rafting up/beaching, swimming, and meeting fellow boaters!
Launch from Lillian Boat Ramp (12408 S 7th St, Lillian, AL), or meet up at Robinson Island

Host will be on the water early with my Yellow Sea Ray Wake Boat to greet everyone.
Launch at 10:00 AM quick in-and-out at the ramp.
Once on the water, find me on VHF Channel 72.

We’ll cruise together (or in small groups) to Robinson Island / sandbar for the real fun: beaching, rafting up, swimming, and hanging out. Bring a cooler, swimsuit, sunscreen, and good vibes!
New boaters welcome this is all about meeting people and making friends on the water.

Event Rules & Boating Etiquette
Please help us keep this a fun, safe, and respectful day for everyone:

Respect the Ramp, Quick launches only. Load your boat, move your trailer promptly, and keep the Lillian Boat Ramp clear for others.
Use Caution Around Other Boats Maintain safe distance while cruising and approaching the island. No wake near anchored boats or in shallow areas.
Raft-Up Safety Use plenty of fenders (bumpers). Tie lines securely but allow boats to move with the water. Approach slowly and communicate (VHF 72 or hand signals). Kids should wear life jackets.
Respect Robinson Island & the Environment
Leave no trace pack out all trash and coolers.
Stay off bird nesting areas and protected grass beds.
No littering or damaging the sandbar.

Safety First Wear life jackets, especially kids. Check weather before leaving. Bring enough fuel and water. Watch for changing conditions on the way back.
Be a Good Neighbor Keep music at a reasonable volume so everyone can enjoy the day. Clean up after yourself and help others if needed.

Tonight feels like the perfect moment to pause and look up, literally and figuratively.
As I sit here reflecting, the crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission, Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen are on their historic journey, having just broken the record for the farthest humans have ever traveled from Earth. They’re swinging past the Moon tonight, venturing into the unknown in ways we haven’t seen since Apollo.
What strikes me most isn’t just the breathtaking engineering or the courage of these four explorers. It’s the quiet, relentless preparation that made this moment possible. Years of training, setbacks, refinements, and an unwavering belief that the dream was worth every sacrifice.
That same spirit lives in all of us.
Tonight, as Artemis II passes the Moon, I invite you to ask yourself some honest questions:
• Where do you want to be in 5 years? In 10? 15? Or even 30?
• What goal or dream have you been carrying in your heart that feels just out of reach right now?
• What small step could you take today that honors the version of you who refuses to give up?
