Ours looked like this: Ohio Tourism Day, OCDA conference, Lima Locos games, Third Thursdays, Toast to the City, Allen County Museum Gala, kayaking and disc golf at Ottawa Metro Park, openings and trying new restaurants and of course the Allen County Fair.

🌕🔭 Look up! There’s a lunar eclipse coming to Greater Lima!

Schoonover Observatory will open to the public Thursday night, August 27, at 10 p.m. and the morning of Friday, August 28, for a spectacular deep partial lunar eclipse!

☁️ Weather permitting! Be sure to check the Lima Astronomical Society page for updates before heading out.

ATTENTION!

Schoonover Observatory will be open to the public this Thursday evening at 10:00pm August 27th and the morning of the 28th for the deep partial lunar eclipse.

The eclipse will be visible across much of the United States. While not a total lunar eclipse, it will be very close with 96.2% of the Moon becoming obscured. The Moon will be a deep red hue alongside a thin bit of silver along one edge. This will offer a great view for both naked eye viewing and photography alike

The observatory will have views of the eclipse through both the main telescope and remotely via an astrocamera to the widescreen monitor in the meeting room.

This event is highly dependent on the weather so check the Lima Astronomical Society page for updates.
