Get ready to experience the magic of Elkhart Hill during the Second Annual Firefly Picnic and Walk hosted by the Elkhart Illinois Historical Society on Friday, June 12th

During this FREE community event, you'll enjoy a shimmering evening under the stars starting with a "bring your own picnic" at Nancy Jane Community Park and ending with a guided firefly walk with local nature enthusiast and bird watcher Allen Yow.

At this event you'll learn about:
• How fireflies use glow patterns to find mates
• Different types of fireflies found locally
• Life cycles, flash patterns, and identification tips

Evening Schedule
• 6:00 p.m. — Picnic begins (playground open for children)
• 7:30 p.m. — Arrival time for walk-only guests
• 7:40 p.m. — Caravan to Elkhart Hill for the walk & short lecture

This is a FREE community event.
