Today we celebrate the International Day of Charity. We proudly promote our hometown girl, Miranda Lambert and her mentor, Dolly Parton for their charitable acts and continued efforts in making this world a better place.

Dolly believed that when you are in a position to help, you should. For decades, Dolly used her voice, resources and influence to uplift others, inspire millions of children and support causes that held special meaning to her such as the Imagination Library.

Miranda and her mom, Bev Lambert, started MuttNation in 2009 with a US-focused mission to support the adoption of shelter pets, advance spay & neuter services, educate the public about the benefits of these actions, and provide assistance to shelters during times of natural disaster.

We hope this post inspires you to volunteer, donate or otherwise show your support for a cause near and dear to your heart.

Winery Wednesday spotlight on Cicada Ridge Vineyard located at: 2677 County Road 2324 Como, TX.

Cicada Ridge Vineyard shared some lovely photos from their recent harvest. It's clear that they have a loyal following and that's a testament to both the wine and the team running the vineyard.

These photos represent the Caminare Noir gathering, and as you can see from the smiling faces, it was a success!

It's National Dog Day AND Winery Wednesday! Thanks to Miranda Lambert's MuttNation for encouraging folks to adopt their next furry friend. Let's extend a warm welcome to a SWEET addition to Lindale, Euro Dream Cafe! This family-owned business makes gorgeous fruit mousse flavored desserts that taste as good as they look. If sweet isn't your thing they stock a variety of cold cuts, imported dry goods, and more.

Happy Wines-day! The fall Piney Woods Wine Fest is only 2 months away and we love highlighting some of our participating wineries. Rio Neches Estate Winery shared a behind the scenes look into their harvest this year. One of the most fascinating and often overlooked parts of enjoying Texas wine, is how it made it from the vine to the bottle!
