Overall, if there’s ever a good place to get skunked, it’s in . There is so much , good , , , and more to keep you busy around the clock if the wind is howling or if the are flat. The have been through a lot in their recent history. The stories they told me were pretty insane. From communism, socialism, human rights abuses, propaganda from a state-run media, disappearances and jailed dissenters, food shortages, no freedom of public expression, to tyranny, they have been walking on eggshells for a really long time. is an escape for all of us, and that idea rings true for surfers here.

Using the internet in Cuba is MUCH different than using the internet in the , , or anywhere else in the really. In , you buy an card and go to a area usually located in a park, in order to be able to log on. This may seem "annoying" or "inconvenient" but in actuality, it makes and enjoyable. You are forced to make human interaction when you have a question instead of asking . People meet at the park when the hot starts to set and using the internet becomes a instead of isolation.
