Another year has come around. This one is a little different for us....it's our first year as empty nesters! But we are enjoying it! Traveling a little bit (with more planned for the future). Eating whenever we want and whatever we want!! Spending time together for the first time in a long time.
I love our life and the family we have raised together. I look forward to many more years and more adventures with this handsome husband of mine!

You know, I love to dream of Disney. When I'm not helping others plan their family getaways to great adventures, I'm dream of my own! But sometimes you have to STOP dreaming and START doing!

If I've learned anything from two daughters getting married so close together is, the time you have your kids at home is SHORT!! Take the time to spend with them.

Dreaming is great and I love to do it. But doing and then having the memories is even BETTER! And you will to be seeing more of me and my family doing and going. Memory making here we come!!

Today is the BIG day! The day my little girl has been planning and dreaming about. Wow, it got here so fast! Too fast for me and my momma's heart. As one season in life closes a new one opens. Today she will go from being our little girl to a Godly young man's wife.

I am so proud of the woman she is and the heart she has for others!

Katie as you begin this new adventure, I pray you know you are loved....by your family and God! Always know we are here if you need anything and look forward to when you and Josh come to visit.❤️

One more day until our Katie get married! It has been a rollercoaster here. Let me give you a bit of background to this engagement....it all started with traveling!
Katie and Josh met on the mission field in Mexico. In their second season, while in for Tori's wedding, Josh proposed in the mountains of NC! Then began the planning. Which was a little difficult as Katie and Josh left to return to Mexico a few days after T-n-T were married! She returned in mid-April and so began the whirlwind. But Katie has a wonderful support group with friends and family that's helped with soooo much!
That brings us to today! As I sit here watching everything fall into place, I think about the wife and mother my Katie's going to be. She is so kind and strong with a beautiful soul. When she gets overwhelmed with decisions, she's quick to let me know to "just give her a second". If you know Katie you also know she's quiet when you first meet her but so fun and goofy after she gets to know you! She can fish circles around most men and ain't scared to try anything! She has a heart of gold and is definitely worth her weight in rudies.

As the wedding day approached, I'm getting a little more nostalgic about my Katie. How much she's changed and grown thru the years. But one thing has always been the same....As the middle girl, Katie is the glue. You see, Katie was born into a family of analytical people. Things are black and white to us, but Katie has always been our colorful child. My daddy nicknamed her Butterfly when she was born, and I can't think of a better way to describe her. She's beautiful, inside and out.
Her heart has always been for others and especially for people most would overlook - the underprivileged children, the handicapped, the outcast. She is special!
When she was little and wanted to learn to play the harp (yes, that's right, that HUGE instrument) we questioned her about it. She said she wanted to play the instrument the angels play....what do you do with an answer like that? You buy a harp and look for an instructor!
I have always wondered why God gave me a child with His heart for people. But I guess He knew we needed her!

It's hard to think of Katie without including her sisters! They have always been so close. Heck, they shared a room their entire lives! And not just a room but clothes, shoes, hairbows and even food (maybe not halloween candy...we all know Elli would hide her's beside her bed for months).
Where one went they all went. They were in a band together and were able to go so many places and meet so many people. Everyone loved my smiling bass player!
As they got older they would take camping and road trips together. The stories they can tell about those trips are hilarious! It includes a bear and wrong turns!
As the years have gone by, Katie was actually the first to "fly the coop". Her heart was calling her into missions. So a few years ago, she left to serve in Mexico for two seasons. Which is where she met Josh. And now after the wedding she and Josh will be heading to Wisconsin.
But I'm not worried, I know Katie and her sisters will stay close. It may not be the same as it was, but they have a bond that time and distance can't separate.

It's that season again in the Jones family....another wedding! This Sunday our second daughter will be marrying a Godly young man we love!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, where does the time go?! I can't believe she is old enough to get married. She's no longer my little Stumbalina.
Although she's not a Disney girl (I still love her), she is a travel gal and fishing expert! For her graduation trip, her and Michael went fly-fishing in Montana.
She's so much fun to travel with, so bubbly and fun. Although if your driving, she will sleep the majority of the trip! But I just love spending time with her.

If you have small kids, enjoy the age they are RIGHT NOW! It will go by so fast and then the time is gone. Travel with them, go to the movies, take them on field trips....just spent time with them! If you take the time when they are young, not only will you have the memories, but you will have raised a travel buddy!

It's getting that time of year again. And I know it well....wedding season! Yes, I have yet another daughter getting married. At the end of this May, my middle girl is tying the knot. Why, WHY do they leave the nest at the same time? I needed some time to get used to one being gone.....🥲
She is marrying a wonderful fella and we care a great deal for him! I think he compliments my Katie well!
Oh sorry, back to the reason for the post. It's that season where weddings and honeymoons are being planned. Obviously, I'm getting a lot of practice with this lately. As I guide my kids and future spouses with their honeymoons, I have learned a lot! And I would love to share with other couples, to help plan a memorable honeymoon for them too! Of course, my specialty is theme parks, but I can guide them with other destinations also!
Let me help you with a once in a lifetime trip that will be as special as the beautiful day you say I do!
