FREE COMMUNITY CLIMBING

This coming spring I am excited to offer free mid-week climbing programs for our north country community in collaboration with ADAPT, Inc.

Adapt is an incredible non-profit that has been operating through central and northern New Hampshire for the last 30 years. Their focus is connecting middle and high school students with the greater north country community, outdoor activities and fostering community through team building activities and experiential learning.

Get your waiver on file at the link below to get a head start and first dibs at our free mid-week community climbing days this spring.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into the world of outdoor rock climbing without the overhead costs.

Weekend and Holiday Guiding Rates will apply.

Fall Temps are here for Rock Climbing and Hiking - there is no better time of the year to learn the skills that keep you secure on the rock and in the mountains.

I am excited to be partnering with AdaptNH through their WYLD and YLTA programs be offering Rock 101, Rock 201, and Guided Hikes as introductory and skill building courses in the outdoors.

40%-50% of all course fees will be going directly to AdaptNH.org in order to help further outdoor and experiential education for public school students in northern New Hampshire.

Reach out to us for more information on how to book your days outside with us and help provide programming to youth in the North Country!

**Our instructors are Wilderness First Responder and American Mountain Guide Association certified**

Our goal is to organize, coordinate, and administer an alcohol, to***co, and other substance abuse, prevention and intervention program that address the needs of youth ages 5 to 21 in the communities we serve. Led by Dr. Ben Mirkin of VTSU Lyndonโ€™s Outdoor Education, Leadership, and Tourism (OELT) program, in collaboration with VTSU alumni Eleanor Weisman-Rowell, undergraduate research fellow Carson Zundel, Friends of the Ledges, and Dr. James Maples and Dr. Ryan Sharp of the University of Tennessee, the studies highlight how outdoor recreation fuels local economies and community identity. These findings come at a critical time, as proposed changes to regional rail could impact access to key climbing areas.

โ€œIce climbing is more than a niche sportโ€”itโ€™s a driver of tourism, a source of jobs, and a catalyst for community identity.โ€ -Dr. Mirkin

โ€œThis study clearly shows how key ice climbing is to the economy of the Mount Washington Valley, and affirms what climbers have always known โ€“ that it is critical to prioritize and protect ice climbing areas.โ€ -Molly Mundy, Access Fund

Franconia Ridge was voted one of the top 10 alpine ridges in the country by Outside Magazine once upon a time.
โ€ข
While less technically challenging with an emphasis on physical and environmental challenges, this ridge line hike is a great start for breaking into bigger days and more technical terrain in the mountains.๐Ÿ”๏ธ
โ€ข
With similar weather to its neighboring mountain range, Mt. Washington and the Presidential Range and spreading across the Western White Mountains; the 5,000 foot high ridge line stretching nearly a mile and a half will attract some of the gnarliest weather in the region as well.๐Ÿ”๏ธ
โ€ข
You will want to bring the essentials and know where to go should the weather roll in. Having a guide with you can ensure a degree of security should anything come up for you on your adventure into the alpine zone.๐Ÿ”๏ธ

Reach out for our Fall adventures - you wonโ€™t want to miss the vibrant colors our notches have to offer. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”๏ธ
