The first weekend in November we were in Rocky Ford, CO for the annual Arkansas Valley Balloon Festival. It is a small event, and a great place to fly. Unfortunately, we did not get to fly either day because of weather. There was a nice sunrise, since we had to be there anyway. A couple of the balloons tethered for a while on Saturday, but Sunday it was threatening to snow on us. If you have the chance to go, you will find a friendly town and great flying (when the weather cooperates).

Gery did fly yesterday, and had a good flight but was not able to compete. Wind conditions just were not in his favor. Still more competitions to come this week. For your daily balloon fix, try this

Fiesta got weathered out this morning but Gery said that it was mostly wind. After a long hold, officials said they could fly at their discretion, but he chose not to fly. Meanwhile the America's Challenge Gas Balloon race continues. Follow the progress here

We want everyone to know that we have moved to Fort Garland CO. We are not flying from Chatfield State Park now, but are referring our flights to another pilot who flies at Chatfield. Please call us, and we will give you the contact information for him - he's a great pilot and a really nice person!

Bright and sunny in the San Luis Valley today! Thanks to all who are contacting us for rides - while we get set up here, we will continue to refer people to other excellent pilots in the Denver area. Soon I hope to have pictures of Gery in our balloon over the valley to show you.

Spring in the San Luis Valley - we hear this is unusual and a lot more precipitation than is common for this area. Gery is eager to start flying here.

Gery was out at Chatfield State Park on Saturday with Jerry Boone, Alison and Ethan. Gery is current again! He said it was a great day, with 12 or so balloons participating in the Craig Hospital Rite of Flight. It is nice to see that this great event is happening again -- thanks to the Colorado Balloon Club. Gery will be doing most of his flying in the San Luis Valley now, since we are moving. It is beautiful county and he is eager to see it from the air.

Spring is coming! Really. The balloons are out in bright bunches at Chatfield and all the pilots who haven't flown much are getting restless. Just to remind you how it looks, here are some pictures from last season. We hope to see you out!

Sorry for the long absence. We've been really busy with home projects and then there has been THE WEATHER. I miss having current balloons photos, so I did some browsing in my older ones. These are not all from the same flight, but some nice pictures all the same. The last two are a recent storm, and such a pretty scene. We hope you are doing well and keeping warm!
